Our History

Crowder & Scoggins, Ltd. is heralded as the most respected and storied law firm serving Monroe and surrounding counties. The firm can trace its historical roots to 1964 when Floyd E. Crowder formed the practice as a sole proprietorship shortly before being elected as Monroe County State's Attorney. In 1969, the firm changed its name to Crowder & Associates, Ltd. after Mr. Crowder decided to incorporate the firm in order to take advantage of provisions of the law relating to law firms. It was almost ten years later, in 1978, when Mark C. Scoggins joined the practice. Under Messrs. Crowder and Scoggins' stewardship, Crowder & Scoggins, Ltd. trained dozens of attorneys and successfully represented the citizens of Monroe County and surrounding communities. Currently, Crowder & Scoggins, Ltd. has 4 attorneys and 4 legal staff members.
